Style Stealer

Photos from Style Bakery and In Style

Natalie Portman looks adorable in this outfit! I wouldn't change a thing, though I might hem her jeans a little bit shorter. I've always thought capes were so cute and I've wanted one for years. I don't think I'm stylish enough to pull off the look. So I'll leave the cape hanging on the rack at the store and go home with Natalie's dark jeans, white tunic blouse, and a brightly colored scarf. I think that shade of green looks really nice on someone with dark hair.

Just remembered my navy blue pea coat I purchased yesterday. That will look perfect for my interpretation of this look!

In the Bag

Style Bakery posted its Fall Handbag Guide.

#s 1-3 include the color red, stud details, and ruffle details. I couldn't agree more!

1. Red: I love adding random bits of color to outfits. A red bag, a close second to red shoes, adds a nice pop! to what you're wearing.

2. Stud details: Again, on bags or on shoes, studs are awesome. They can give a girlie outfit a bit of edge. I'm on the lookout for a pair of stud earrings. I can't remember where I saw the pair that I really wanted...possibly at Urban Outfitters?

3. Ruffle details: I was walking by the Cole Haan store on Newbury Street and I saw a ruffled bag that I adored. The opposite of a bag with stud details, ruffles can add a girlie look to a plain outfit.

Hope you enjoyed the brief departure from food and exercise. My cousin used to tell people that shopping was her cardio, and I totally echo that sentiment!

Clothes Horse

I love shopping! Possibly even more than I love good food and working out. Ok, not possibly, definitely. If I had to choose between a designer handbag and grocery shopping, I would totally be carrying that new bag.

In Paris! Shopping dream come true....even though I didn't end up buying the coveted Louis Vuitton bag!

My dad got a paparazzi shot of me shopping in London. I'm clearly focused on the impending purchase.

I'm trying to sift through my closet, both at my apartment in Boston and at my parents' house, and get rid of stuff that I won't wear again. I have a huge pile that I need to bring to the Salvation Army.

I like to check out Style Bakery's fashion blog for tips on the latest and greatest...

Items to Update your Fall Wardrobe
1. Leather biker jacket

2. Soft, draped day dress

3. Layered chain necklace: I was able to get a really funky necklace from TopShop in London so I've got this one covered.

4. Printed scarf: Scarves were EVERYWHERE in London. I think I came home with 4 or 5 different patterns.

5. Skinny inky blue or black jeans

6. Studded ankle boots: My Seychelles booties just arrived in the mail.

7. Long cardigan: Obsessed with long "Grandpa" cardigans. They're so comfy and cozy. Plus they cover a lot when I'm not feeling my skinniest.

8. Red bag: Got one from Cole Haan a few years ago. Love the buttery soft leather!

9. Red lipstick

10. Green or purple nail polish: Dark purple is my go-to color!

Dreaming of an engagement ring from Tiffanys!!!
