Celebrate Good Times, C'mon!

I went to HealthWorks and relaxed in the sauna for 15 minutes. Refreshed, I used the rest of my lunch break to run my errands at CVS. I snacked on some vanilla wafers from Trader Joe's.

Sorry for the gross picture! I had a 2 pm meeting so I was in a hurry to eat my snack and clear my desk!

I limited myself to 3 candy pumpkins. It's really hard to show self control when I'm snacking on these!

I was starving by the time I got home so I had a bowl of tortilla chips with salsa. I spent my usual 30 minutes watching TV and catching up on shows that I had saved on my DVR.

Jared and I brought 3 bags of laundry to the laundromat. I brought Miles along so we could combine the errand with the dog's walk. Our laundromat is next to the South End Buttery. I spotted a special treat in the window that I couldn't walk home without...

Yay, time to start preparing dinner!

I made pesto tortellini plus a pan full of chicken sausage, red peppers, and zucchini. Jared doesn't like either vegetable so they were all up for grabs. I cooked the sausage in veggies in oil olive and added a little bit of pepper for added flavor.

Mmmm, I blended a healthy serving size of the tortellini, lots of vegetables, and one chicken sausage. I added a little bit more olive oil and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. I'm usually not a huge fan of sausage, but I was happy with the overall meal.

Finally....CUPCAKE!!!

Celebratory dessert! A pumpkin cupcake with maple cream cheese frosting from the South End Buttery!

What are we celebrating? I submitted my application to be a blogger for HealthWorks! I worked really hard on my sample post. I hope that they can see I have a lot of enthusiasm for fitness and I'd love to share my exercise goals with my fellow gym members. The deadline in October 14th so I guess I'll find out sometime after that date.

I also received an e-mail that I've been accepted to write for Examiner.com! Once everything gets set up, I'll be reviewing cardio options for people who live in and around Boston. From machines at the gym to stuff folks can do at home to short road trips away from the city, I have lots of plans of things to try out and review for others.

  5. Erin...some other great Boston-area cupcake places to try are Sweet, Kick Ass Cupcakes, Flour Bakery.

I've been to Sweet on Mass Ave a bunch of times and it's my favorite dessert place in the city! They also have a location in Cambridge.
