Race Registration

We walked to the Fens to register for the Boston Half Marathon.

I was super psyched to get a t-shirt with the Unicorn on it. I've always thought it looked so cool on all of the marathon merchandise, and now I'm an actual participant.

I wonder what the results will be. Can't wait til tomorrow!

Beautiful day in the Fens!

I love living in Boston, especially in the fall.

We walked down Huntington Ave on our way home. Northeastern has it's very own wiffle ball field!

This truck tried to make a left onto Huntington and it was an epic failure. Not sure how long the road will be blocked. This is why driving in Boston sucks!

Jared made his sandwich special: turkey sandwich on wheat bread with cheese and pickles, apple slices, and Wheat Thins. I started watching the BC/VA Tech football game at the beginning of the 3rd Quarter. BC was down 34-0. Yikes!

I'm estimating we walked a total of 5 miles from the South End to the Fens and back. Our walk included a quick stop at City Sports so I could get my own foam roller. I thought Miles would be exhausted cuz he has such little legs, but I'm pretty tired too. After I was done with lunch, I used the foam roller for 5 minutes. Now I'm ready to relax for 30 minutes.

We're hosting brunch after the race tomorrow so I really need to clean and vacuum the apartment!

Snackie

I chose to eat breakfast at work this morning. I packed some strawberry yogurt and granola. Easy enough and always a crowd pleaser.

I was such a snack-monster today. It was 11:15 and I just HAD to eat my lunch. I bought more delicious rolls when we were at Shaws so I used one to make a turkey sandwich with cheese, lettuce, and pickles. Plus Sunchips as a side, obviously!

I ate an apple around 12:30 but my camera was charging so I couldn't take a picture.

I went to the gym at 1:30 and used my time wisely: 25 minutes on the Elliptical machine and free weights for my upper body. Jared and I are supposed to run 3 miles tonight so I didn't feel the need to push myself too hard. I remembered to pack face wash and Cottonelle wipes to clean up after my workout. What a huge difference! I'm not too sweaty when I finish at the gym and I always splash water on my face and refresh my deodorant. Even so, when I get back to work, I feel kinda grimy. I feel so fresh and so clean clean today! Why weren't these 2 items in my gym bag before today?!?!

I was hungry when I got back in the office so I tore into a Luna bar. Mmmm! I loved this so much more the the Lara bar I ate yesterday.

TGIF

I had the rest of the cantaloupe around 10:30. By noon, I was ready for my turkey sandwich and Sunchips. It's such a basic lunch but it's so delicious.

I went to the Chestnut Hill Mall during my lunch hour. I wanted to go to Sephora to get my Beauty Insider birthday gift: Lip gloss. My mascara needs to be tossed so I decided to try a tube from Clinique. I have Bare Escentuals blush but I don't think the color works for my skin tone. Sephora brand makeup is relatively inexpensive so I decided to try a pretty pink shade, plus a new blush brush as an extra birthday treat. And lipstick for $5; it was in the bargain bin! I qualified for a free gift so I chose a little tube of hand cream.

It was hard to leave the mall and go back to work. As soon as I got back to my desk, I snacked on a Chocolate Raspberry Luna bar. The texture and the flavor were to die for! I loved it!

I was starving when I got home from work so I snacked on some cucumber slices with Italian dressing. Cucumbers are so light and fresh. Instead of a side salad, I love to just eat a bowl of cukes!

Munchies

I was starving before noon and I couldn't stop myself from breaking into my lunch time goodies. I had turkey sandwich, same deal as yesterday with cheese and pickles, and a 100 calorie bag of Sunchips. I love eating chips with sandwiches. I've tried baby carrots to get a healthier crunch but it's not the same.

(Sorry I couldn't rotate this picture!) I'm really glad I found an excuse to wear these sneakers I bought at Urban Outfitters a few weeks ago. Not really business casual but I sit alone in my office all day and I was comfortable while Miles and I went for a walk.

Miles was SO happy to be out of the car. We walked around the cemetery for about 25 minutes. He kept stopping to roll in the grass or roll in goose crap that was on the walkway. He's so gross but he always makes me laugh.

I tried my 1st Luna bar around 1:30. I was expecting the same texture as a Clif Bar but it was different and stickier. I did enjoy the Berry Almond flavor. At 170 calories, it seems like something I can justify for an easy snack. I have 3 more flavors at home and I'm looking forward to trying those too. Not in love with Luna bars yet but I'm a fan so far...

Afternoon Recap

Snacked on some strawberries

Then ate a turkey sandwich with cheese and pickles. I need to look at the type of buns I bought because they are sooo yummy.

I ate a snack while I was working from home this afternoon. I was NOT in the mood to take pictures. Now I'm relaxing on the couch with a large glass of cranberry juice and my ankle is stretched out. Just took my 1st dose of antibiotics. My ankle is still sore from my dramatic fall, but I'll make it. I think my toes look worse than my ankle, and there's nothing wrong with them. :o)

Hope everyone else had a better Tuesday!
